Showered with Love Baby Shower

Welcome to my Showered with Love Baby Shower. This was a joint planned party between my In-laws and myself. I found most of the ideas on Pinterest and actually invented a game for the event! Keep reading for more <3

My Showered with Love Baby Shower was hosted at my In-laws house because I was expecting a lot of people and my house is not that big. They seemed happy to host it besides that point. We arrived the night before to set up, and boy was I glad I did that because it would have been chaos if we had gone there the day of. Party Hack: If you can set up early DO IT!

Decorations:

For our main table we hung white pom-poms from their chandelier with these raindrop garlands I made. To make the Raindrop garlands you’ll need:

  • 3 types of blue paper ranging from light to dark
  • Silver, white or clear string
  • a raindrop template (you can use the one from this site) I free-handed mine
  • scissors
  • glue

I cut out the raindrops around the template till I had a fair amount. I then placed one raindrop on the table, glued the string down the center of the raindrop. (start at the top) and then covered the string with a matching color raindrop. I did this so no matter what angle you looked at the raindrop you wouldn’t see the string, just the raindrop. I started with the Dark blue, after 2 or 3 dark raindrops moved on to the middle blue, then the light. I varied the amounts of each color on each string to make different lengths to make it visually interesting.

For the table I used regular run of the mill Pink table cloths from Party City, topped with different lunch style finger foods. I placed my red panda stuffed animal center stage surrounded by fresh pink roses and babies breath picked up that morning from my Local grocery store (Publix). I DIY-ed some Lan Lan Milk bottles (here’s the Tutorial) using milk bottles I bought from Oriental Trading! these are great! Im going to be using tons in my future party scrapes!

The cupcakes were handmade by me using Vanilla and Strawberry cake mixes. I also made a Ombre Pink cake (not pictured) but it died in the process of being made. want to know the story? let me know if the comments if you want to know the story and Ill totally tell you because its hilarious. This cake was from BJ’s last-minute and the “its a girl” cake topper is from WISH. it was one of the first things I bought for the party. I picked up some chalkboard food cards at Joann’s to label all the food. The cups and plates are from Party City. I went with super cute simple dots in green and Pink. Super simple.

The sign-in table was right inside the door. I found the light up “G” at Hobby Lobby and the Red Panda Stuffed animal was a gift we received from the Gender Reveal. I bought a bunch of cheap frames at the Dollar Store. I found this amazing baby book! While I was pregnant I kept looking high and low for a baby book that didn’t scream BABY GIRL! This book really caught my eye with its beautiful National Geographic Images. Follow this link to take a look.

For a simple decoration for any baby shower is to clothes line all of your gathered baby clothes.

Entertainment:

My Showered with Love Baby shower was low key in the entertainment, I say that and I employed a balloon artist. As far as games I only had one because I am not a baby shower games person. I don’t like to do them at a party so I didn’t want that for my guests. Instead I made an optional game. A baby shower photo scavenger hunt. I can add this list as a free download if you are interested. To make teams I DIY some Washi tape tags to label which team you are.

For my baby book I decided to get one of those adorable Instant photo cameras. I plan on using this camera for many of my future events. My only issue for the camera is that YOU NEED LIGHT.  Even in a nicely lit home many of the photos were dark.

A low key game was tied into the cupcakes. I had hidden a few babies in some of the cupcakes and anyone who found one got a little gift from my gift basket. Super simple and fun game. Here is a link to purchase your own cake babies.

We had a Bow station! This was a great idea! I recommend if your having a little girl. She is still wearing bows from the party well into her first year. These are the packages I bought from etsy and It came with everything we would need except a Glue gun.

This last of my entertainment is the most fun of all. His name is Bruce the “No Ordinary Balloon Man”. He was amazing in entertaining both the children and adults. He did an amazing job and even made us an adorable Red Panda Balloon. AMAZING! He’s local to Orlando FL and you can book him here on his site (which I help design, Cough Cough)

Fashion:

I decided to wear this beautiful dress from ____. I loved the colors and the way it showed off my baby belly. The Dress also worked for breastfeeding, which is a huge bonus! Here are some photos from my Showered with love photo shoot.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope I helped you with some ideas for your own Showered with love Baby Shower.
